Pizza Wisdom: My random mozarella related wake up call

Have you ever had what you thought was a really good idea?  Perhaps it was for a business you wanted to start? A t-shirt design you can picture clearly in your head. A change you think you can make at work?  A gift to buy someone? Something you wanted to ask someone? Even a book or a blog post you wanted to write?

It might have come to you in bath.  On a dog walk. Daydreaming at home or on the tube to work.  It just came to you and every so often and increasingly, it’s popping up and impossible for you to ignore...

WATCH "Generation Y Not?": Let's talk about the other 'S' word w/ Jo Westwood, Spirit DJ

Hey there Proofies,

This hangout caused quite a stir in my inbox and now you can see what all the fuss is about - here’s your recording.

Apologies there’re no crystals, dream catcher or floaty clothing in the post to accompany this.  My bezzy Nicky from Be Ready tweeted me this picture after this hangout and I just had to share it:

As supermodel Lily Cole highlights, Spirituality is being dragged into the 21st century and what’s awesome is that people are increasingly realizing is that it doesn’t matter what your background is, there really is something for everyone at this self-care buffet

Timing, hey?

So just to give you a refresh-eroo, in this ‘Generation Y Not?’ interview we were talking all about the other ‘S Word’, Spirituality and as those of you that viewed it live will know Jo Westwood brought her unique and non nonsense take on how happiness is an inside job.

In this, what I expect will be first of many conversations with you guys, we shared our interpretations of what Spirituality is, what it isn’t and how YOU can use it a bit like a tool kit for navigating real life as a much happier, in control version of yourself.

Other people in a mood and ruining your day? – we have you covered

Your boss is being an A-hole? – this is gonna help

Having trouble getting through to someone at work or at home? We’ve got what it takes to ensure you’re heard

Noticed you’re reaching to passive aggression to make a point rather than communicating like a grown up?  Yep, Spirituality can sort that out too.

Enjoy this recording my love and head to the comments to share your Spiritual go-tos- everybody wins!

  • What have you observed about your 'crust of history'?
  • What are your must-read spiritual books?
  • Who's been a great influence on you and your spiritual practice?

See you in the comments!

"Generation Y Not?": Let's talk about the other 'S' word w/ Jo Westwood, Spirit DJ

You're in the right place to watch Jo Westood and I at 8pm GMT. Simply click 'play' below :)

(Here from Facebook?  Head straight to the bottom poppet!)

OK this is a bit weird... As I’ve sat down to start writing this, in my head I’m singing that Salt n Peppa song from the 90’s – do you remember it?- Let’s talk about sex:

 “Let’s talk about sex baby

let’s talk about you and me

Let’s talk about all the good things and the bad things that may be…”

But instead Of Sex I’m singing SPIRIT, WTF?! (Dance break!)

I’m bringing you some philosophy with a bit of 90’s rap because I’m back LIVE tomorrow at the slightly later time of 8PM and my very special guest is life coach, Spirit Junkie and my personal amigo, Jo Westwood, The Spirit DJ.

If you’ve seen and heard things and terms floating around like:

  • Gratitude…
  • The law of attraction…
  • Connecting with your soul...
  • Miracles…
  • Angels…
  • The secret…
  • Divine numbers…

...And keep wondering ‘who the hell is ‘Gabby B’ anyway and what is this all about?!’ then honey, I have got your back!

This webinar will be the perfect place to dip your toe into what a NU spirituality might mean for you, start you off or move you along your own path of self-discovery. So join Jo and I live or sign up for the replay via the form at the bottom.

*Quick note!  This will have NOTHING to do with religion or aligning with an established organisation.  You don’t need to be wearing certain clothes or turning up somewhere at a certain time to be spiritual, as will soon become obvious from our conversation! (I mean no offence but look at us?!)*

Ultimately, in this coming episode of “Generation Y not?” We’re turning inward to explain how spirituality can help with all of the outside stuff you might have going on right now.  For me, being spiritual has led me to basically design the fundamentals of my happiness tool kit and stay sane, safe and at peace in this crazy world we live in so join us and discover more for yourself!

"Generation Y Not?"- Love & relationships - "Break-up with your break-up" with Laura Yates

Welcome to the replay of the "Generation Y Not?" interview "Break-up with your break-up" with Laura Yates

In case you missed it, here's the most recent "Generation Y Not?" interview that was recorded live last Thursday evening.  For this episode I spoke with relationship coach Laura Yates and we got up-close, personal and emotional going deep on how break-ups can affect us and how we can move through the upset of a break-up to a place of healing and peace.

We spill our guts with plenty of our own stories and experiences as part of our conversation and it's clear this is no quicky, generalist 'your Top 3 tips' type of piece (deliberately so).  There is a sh*t tonne of support, guidance and advice in here that we know has worked for us and others that we have coached around this sensitive subject and rest assured you are SO NOT alone!

I hope you hear something you need to hear today in the recording and please feel free to pass this on to a pal that may need to hear about healing at the moment.

What's do you think - did we miss anything that you feel would help others?

What's your story to share on healing a heart ache?

Is it ever too soon to dive back into the dating game - when did you know you were 'ready'?

Please head to the comments and I'll see you there :)

Bye bye break-up ghosts - some words on how I healed

So, I saw an ex-boyfriend at the weekend and, after 10 years, he was:

  • Still hot
  • Still funny
  • Still tall
  • Still intelligent
  • Still interesting
  • Still interested
  • Still bright
  • Still up for trying to score fags when ours had run out (why are social smokers so under-prepared?)

This not only begs the question, how do I choose such great men, but with all that appeared to be the 'same', what was different?

Well, in a word, it was ME...

For the first time in a long time I was absolutely myself and not playing the role, of what I thought was a cooler, brighter, more successful version of me...

Digital witnesses: are we guilty of crimes against memory making?

I often get into conversations about how I choose my blog topics.

To be reeeeaally honest, in this line of work, I'm so conscious of my own behaviour and reactions it's often a case of holding up a mirror to myself and sitting in that *awkward* cringey space that is, reflection. Or narcissism. But I prefer 'reflection' ;-)

This post is no different, loves.  I've become painfully aware of

(VIDEO) "In defence of pre & why overnight success is a load of shit"

OK.  I'm gonna be straight up with you.  We all have busy lives and sometimes things just come all at once.  I have been experiencing the sharp end of that recently  at home and at work as I settle into our new home, plan our wedding (only 5 weeks to go!) and I also put my heart and soul into growing the Proof business and sharing the #comparisonfree message with people...

How to get over #FOMO (Video)

"AM I THE ONLY PERSON NOT ON THE BEACH IN IBIZA?!"

Whooooahh, sorry, my FOMO got the better of me there, people!  It can feel like a total bummer when it appears you're missing out and that, according to social media, everyone is having a better time, in amazing jobs or loved up to the max in their perfect houses and so on.

#FOMO can be a useful reminder of where we're off compass with what we want for ourselves.  Check out my video below where, in quite a strong Leeds accent I share with you where to start when you experience #FOMO as it can often be a creeping signal of something else going on...

Proof meets New Age Hipster! Tarot interview goodness

Those of you that are signed up to my newsletter will have had a heads up that I'm very open to a mystical life and I am indeed on my own spiritual path along with many 'Gen-Yers'.  For me, this has meant jamming with the original Spirit Junky Gabby Bernstein and others and that I've visited mediums and experienced tarot readings and the like...

But when I came across Vicky she not only appealed to my Brooklyn loving side but also whet my astro appetite.  When I discovered her awesome blog, I just *knew* I had to get this girl on mine to share her take on tarot and give a bit of an introduction to it for those of you that are interested in a dabble or a toe dip.....

The other 'L' word: “What to do if you work for a maniac or a bully”

“Be careful in there – he’s in one of those moods” or “Just leave it outside her door – she’s still coming down from last night!”

...Oh the joys of watching each other’s back when you work for a maniac, a bully or if you were REALLY bad in a past life, a combo of the two.

Many anecdotes and first hand accounts from all over have informed this piece and before we get into it, I will be typically straight up with you guys, in that, there are approximately a gazillion HR blogs ‘out there’ to offer you advice on how to combat drama at work and you’ll probably have a binder in your desk that will offer you a view too. This is not a HR blog.

I should have called this post 'You know as well as I do, it's time to leave your job'...

“Handle your scandal”: How I moved from over-exposure to self-care

The title of this piece is a bit of an ear catcher, isn’t it?  Let me explain.  “Handle your scandal” is a phrase I use to, in the words of the Arctic Monkeys, ‘snap out of it.’

I use it when I get in a tangle of negative thoughts, start to lose control of my emotions and behave a bit 'Dawson’s Creek’.... if you're a kid who grew up in the nineties that will evoke all kinds of over-thinking drama.

Whether it’s because I’m a Leo, an extrovert or have an over active imagination… when it comes to going from 0 to 70 on the emotional scale I’m a Porsche and I’d prefer to be a golf cart tbh.  This has shown up in my social media posting in the past which some of you may have witnessed and some of you can relate to. I basically used Facebook as an emotional crutch.

A point I want to be very clear on is that social media is a place to be whoever you want to be.  It's my view you have the right to post whatever the hell you want, whenever you want – the good, the bad and the ugly...

Proof's Summer School of Self Love Intensive is on!: wanna copy my class notes?

The thing about being in this rapidly growing and expanding self-development industry is that there are new people sharing their perspectives every day and their ways of thinking are continuously coming our way.  I just lap. It. Up!

As you may know, in the last 6 months or so I’ve moved across the country, set up Proof and I’m getting married in September too so, to avoid knee skidding ‘Overwhelm City’, my own self development habits are something I’m working out more and more to keep those soul muscles strong  – us life coaches are figuring it out too, after all.

That’s why I invest in events and seminars, on and offline, attended and run by like-minded people that have a message to share.  As I step into my calling of coaching people to avoid the comparison trap caused by social media, more and more each day I’ve started what feels like a ‘Summer Intensive’ to reinforce and support my attitude, actions and confidence at this time of extreme plate spinning....

"About last night...": Arianna Huffington's golden gems inside

"... Arianna's charm and presence filled the atrium of space and I was captivated by her honesty and humility as she shared stories of her humble beginnings, her relationship with her mother, her rise to success and also her take on how we can truly thrive today, from the inside out.

I wasn't able to record every single insight she shared word for word as I was drinking it all in but I was able to scribble down some fantastic gems that hit home with me and I hope these go some way in helping you thrive in your own way...."
